How I Used Neuroplasticity to Recover From Chronic Fatigue (CFS)

Overview
Are you suffering from chronic fatigue, your nervous system stuck in fight or flight mode, & you’re looking for a natural way to recover and get your life back?
If so, I know exactly how you feel, because I felt the same way. I struggled with chronic fatigue for 3 years and this time last year I was bedridden for over 3 months: I couldn’t move, I couldn’t work, I couldn’t see friends or do any of the things I used to love, like surfing or traveling or taking my lady out to dinner.
Basically life sucked and I felt like my body was broken...
So again, if you’re going through chronic fatigue, I know exactly how you feel.
But luckily, everything changed for me when I learned about "neuroplasticity" and how I could use it to rewire my brain & nervous system to heal, and within months, I had my life back. I was walking 10k steps a day, working out a few times a week, working full-time, taking my lady out on dates, surfing again, and on my way to total wellness.
Now I’ve made it my mission to help others do the same, because I believe if I can recover, so can you.
So in this newsletter, I’m going to share with you: how I used neuroplasticity to rewire my brain and recover from chronic fatigue syndrome—naturally. And how you can use it to in order to rewire your mind, regain your health, get your life back too.

Quick disclaimer: No, I’m not a doctor, this is NOT medical advice, just my experience. But I DO know what it’s like to have your life put on hold by chronic fatigue, and more importantly, I know how to beat it, even when some doctors say it’s incurable.
What is neuroplasticity and why does it matter for healing?
Neuroplasticity is the brain’s ability to adapt and change based on what we repeatedly do—whether that’s a thought, an emotion, or a behavior. For a long time, science believed our brains were fixed after childhood. But now we know that our brains can form new connections at any age, constantly reshaping based on our experiences.
Think of your brain as a vast power grid with billions of pathways. The more you use a particular pathway, the stronger it becomes. Conversely, pathways you rarely use weaken over time. This means the habits, thoughts, and emotions you repeat the most become your brain’s default mode. If you’re constantly reinforcing stress or negative thoughts, those pathways become deeply ingrained and automatic.
The good news? You can choose to redirect your thoughts and rewire your brain for healing.
How your brain forms patterns...
Your brain contains roughly 86 billion neurons, each connecting to thousands of others through synapses. These synapses are the highways where information flows. When you think, feel, or act repeatedly, you strengthen those neural pathways, making those patterns easier and faster to follow next time.
Imagine these pathways as roads: new habits start as dirt roads—temporary and fragile. But with repetition, they become well-paved highways, automatic and effortless. This is why consistency and repetition are crucial when it comes to rewiring your brain.
Breaking free from harmful patterns...
Here’s a critical insight: your brain doesn’t judge whether a pattern is helpful or harmful. It simply strengthens whatever you repeat. For years, I was stuck reinforcing patterns of fear, worry, and stress. I lived in survival mode, constantly fearing a crash and believing I was broken. These automatic thought patterns fueled my symptoms and blocked my recovery.
But once I understood neuroplasticity, I realized I had the power to replace those harmful patterns with new ones that supported healing. Instead of chasing symptoms, I focused on training my brain to heal, and you can do the same.
How I rewired my brain and nervous system for healing...
- Identified Harmful Patterns: I became aware of the negative thoughts, beliefs, and behaviors that kept me stuck in chronic fatigue.
- Used Brain Retraining: Every time I caught myself slipping into a negative pattern, I consciously shifted to a positive one. This brain retraining was the cornerstone of my recovery, and it’s something I’ll dive deeper into in future discussions.
- Stayed Consistent: Just like going to the gym, I practiced rewiring my brain daily. Over time, the new, healthier patterns became automatic, and true healing began.
As a result, I started feeling calm, relaxed, energized, and optimistic again. I regained confidence and felt like myself once more.

If it worked for me, it can work for you too. I’d attribute 80% of my healing to rewiring my mind.
The other 20% was recovery, nutrition, movement, and lifestyle changes. All of it’s important, but healing MUST start in the mind.
